Lisa
Taylor Huff - In The Media

Woman lives her dream when others
find theirs
By Jackie Taylor-Kimber, Staff Writer The
Courier-News, Bedminster, NJ, June 17, 1999 Three years ago, while
nursing a broken leg, Lisa [Taylor] Huff decided to make a dramatic career
change.
At that time, Huff was working as a project manager for a
computer firm -- HiServ N.A. in Warren. Huff says she had a good job. She was
well paid and had wonderful colleagues, but she was not completely
happy.
"I loved the company and the people I worked with. But I had been
working for 15 years, and it did not satisfy me," Huff says. "When I broke my
leg I had time to think and decide what I really wanted to do."
While
surfing the Internet, Huff decided she wanted to become a coach to people in
transition. In most cases, her clients are people who have decided to open
their own businesses. Through consultation, Huff helps these entrepreneurs
balance the demands of a new career with the demands of their personal
lives.
Huff helps clients set and achieve goals through a process of
coaching that usually lasts six months. Typically, she will coach people over
the phone and via e-mail. Some of Huff's clients are as far away as Japan and
the Phillipines. These clients contact her via her web site at
www.LisaTaylorHuff.com.
Huff charges clients an e-mail rate and a
phone-coaching rate. E-mail correspondence is $150 per month, and phone
coaching is $300. Clients are permitted an unlimited number of e-mails, while
phone coaching includes three 30 minute calls.*
Huff has coached people
in Somerset County and across the United States; she is one of approximately
2,000 coaches listed on the web.
It was during an Internet search that
Huff spotted a site detailing the "coach philosophy" and how to
qualify.
"It was like the proverbial light bulb," Huff says. "I knew
immediately that that was the career path I wanted to take."
Huff
completed her coach training in 18 months. Her training was done on a
correspondence basis -- via the Internet and telephone -- with Coach University
in Steamboat Springs, Colo.
"My vision is to create a better world by
using and sharing my strengths to provide others with the information, tools
and support they need to claim their own personal power," Huff says. "Through
coaching others to live their dreams, I am living my own passion in life and
fulfilling my life purpose."
